Silicon device and integration Technology Department (SDIT)
The predecessor of SDIT is the former department of LSI research of institute of semiconductor, CAS. With the care and guidance from Prof. Wang Shouwu, Prof. Wu Dexin (both veteran scientists and Academician of CAS) and etc, SDIT is developing quickly and getting more stronger, and has made a great contribution to the development of our country’s microelectronic industry.
There are many names for this department, which used in the past are: “the first research group”, ‘the research department on LSI”, and “the research department on technology of deep sub-micron IC”,etc.
SDIT has a steady ground in CMOS technology, and has been pursuing exploratory investigation in CMOS technology for many years, and made lots of achievements. And it is the earliest unit to fabricate Hall circuits and VDMOS devices in batch production in China.

ASIC and System Department
As one of the key departments of silicon IC design in IMECAS, ASIC & System Dept. was established in 1986. Since then, many national key projects had been completed in the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th Five-Year periods, and a lot of high level talents in IC design has been fostered.
The aim of this dept. is to pursue the cutting edge trend of IC design, to meet the requirements of national and international IC development, to be the leader in IC application, and to cultivate high-level IC design experts.
Micro-fabrication and Nano Technology Department
Micro-Fabrication and Nano technology department in IMECAS (LabNano) is the first organization starting to research sub-micron and nano fabrication processes in China. At present, LabNano has 20 research and technical staff including 4 research scientists (one is a professor of Hundred Talents Program of CAS), 4 assistant researchers and senior engineers, 12 technologists.
Research in our lab focuses on advanced mask fabrication technology and DFM, nano-fabrication and advanced IC equipment, advanced memory device (nano crystal floating gate and resistive switching memory device), nano-electronic device and integrated technology, molecular electronic device and its integration, fabrication and detection of diffractive optical elements, micro-/nano-sensor and its integration etc.
Microwave Devices and Integrated Circuits Department
Microwave Devices and Integrated Circuits Department（MDICD） is a leading research team in the area of compound semiconductor devices and MMIC in China. We are responsible for several national projects of 863、973, NSFC and CAS innovative projects and a series of influential research results have been achieved.
MDICD has strong research facilities and environments, such as 4 inch mini-fab. For compound semiconductor devices and circuits, MMIC design and test environments, microwave modules lab, SOP and optical module lab.
At present, six main areas within the department`s research activities, these are:
1. GaAs and InP based microwave and millimeter wave devices and circuits,
2. GaN based microwave high power devices and circuits,
3. MMIC design and test technology,
4. Ultra-high frequency mixed-signal ICs,
5. Microwave module research,
6. Optical devices and SOP modules.
Communication and multimedia SOC Department
Communication and Multimedia SOC Department (CMSOC) carry out researches on chips development in Communication and Multimedia SOC area.
1. Baseband signal processing and SOC design for GNSS systems
2 Baseband signal processing and SOC design for Wimax/LTE
3. DRM and SOC design for multimedia applications
4. Embedded DSP and Multi-core Processor
As the core chip of communication and multimedia SOC, a High performance embedded 32bit DSP chip named as "Co-Star" was developed successfully. The key technologies for chips with higher performances are in development.
Department of Electronics System Technology
Department of Electronics System Technology is divided into four teams that include communication system, integrated circuit design, satellite position receiver, microwave components and module. The major research areas include satellite mobile communication, GNSS technology, wireless sensor network and mobile digital TV, and provide key technology, core chips, modules and systems of total solutions.
The department leader is a Professor of “Hundred Talents Plan of CAS”, who had research experience overseas, and major researchers include over twenty members with PhD/M.S. The department has been taking many important national research projects, including “863”, “973” and key innovation projects of CAS.
Electronic design Platform and Electronic Common Technology Department(ECTD)
The Department of electronic common technologies is built up in 2007. The mainly occupation research area is IC design methodologies such as DFM, low power for wireless communication and remote computing technologies, SoC/IP design methodologies. The simulation and design technologies for PCB are also considered.
ECTD is also the executing agent of EDA Center of CAS. The EDA Center is one of the supporting units of CAS which mainly offer technologies and research platform for the institutes which work in electronics research area. The design service, MPW, Package service and test service are offered by us.
The fund resource includes NFSC, National science and high technologies project.
Microelectronic Equipment Technology Department
The main work in Microelectronic Equipment Technology Department (METD) is research on technologies of micro-electronic equipments and to make it success in realization of homemade goal in design and manufacture of semiconductor processing equipment with profound experience which is gained in IC fabrication and micro-electronic equipment development during the past tens of years in IMECAS.

EDA Center of CAS
To meet the need of technology and talents for IC and system design industry, EDA Center of CAS was established on November 2002.
The EDA Center is one of the supporting units of CAS which mainly offer technologies, research and education platform for the institutes which work in electronics research area. The design service, MPW, Package service and test service are offered to different customers.
Hangzhou Zhong Ke Microelectronics Company Co Ltd
Hangzhou Zhong Ke Microelectronics Company Co Ltd. (HZKMC) is co-founded by IMECAS and the Hi-tech Development District of Hang Zhou municipal government and formed on November 2004. HZKMC is dedicated in IC design and system development, with 80 employees (more than 80 percent with doctor or master degree).
HZKMC is also the supporting unit for the Hang Zhou branch of IMECAS and the branch of EDA Center of CAS.

Beijing Zhong Ke Microelectronics Co Ltd.
Beijing Zhong Ke Microelectronic Co Ltd. (BZKMC) was set up at the beginning of 2002. Most of employees came from the former ASIC design group of IMECAS.
With the support from IMECAS and the persistence effort of the company, a series of IC products with independent IPs has been developed.
